Land Acknowledgment

In October at school, we had a land acknowledgment and one on the announcements everyday. We sat on the benches in the peace garden then prayed for our world to get better and healthier. We would also spread tobacco on the grass and plants. They also talked about land acknowledgment and explained what it was all about there.

The Climate & Indigenous Action (CIA) of St Anne School

Our grade 6 class started a social enterprise, called Climate and Indigenous Action, for short the CIA. We are just Grade 6 students trying to solve a big problem : climate change and indigenous awareness. Did you know that we are losing 1.2 trillion tons of ice each year! That is the act of climate change. Did you know that indigenous people all over canada today are facing denial of land rights, but they were the first people in Canada? We need to stop this. That is why we are raising money with a product and we are going to donate all the money we earn to different charities around Ottawa that deal with climate change and indigenous problems.
